Simple Ways to Boost Organic Reach in the Facebook Newsfeed

Posted On: September 28, 2016

Facebook is a popular platform, used by over 1.5 billion people around the world. This social media website can be a goldmine for small business owners who want to tap into their target demographic. But, it is becoming harder and harder to keep your company visible in the Facebook newsfeed because the algorithms have changed to decrease the visibility of pages.
Even though the organic reach on Facebook is getting worse, there are a few things that you can do to boost your visibility:

  • Post Content Your Audience will Love: The goal with social media is to increase the interactions on the post. The more people “like” and comment on the photo or status update, the more it increases the likelihood that the update will be shared with other people. Facebook wants to deliver content that the users are happy with, so the content delivery is measured by the popularity of the post.

  • Preferred Audience Targeting: This feature is new on Facebook, and it allows businesses to choose the target demographic for organic results. It works in a similar way as paid ads, only allowing a specific group of people to see the organic update.

  • Invite More Followers: Look at some of your most popular posts to see who has engaged with the content that you have posted. You can see a detailed list of the people who interacted, and then reach out to those individuals to invite them to like your page. There is an “invite” button that you can use to send the invitation to those people. As a result, they will be able to see future posts, and it is likely that they will interact with those posts and boost overall visibility.

  • Use Photos and Videos: People are used to seeing photos and videos when they are online. If you aren’t using photos or videos in your publishing, you are missing out on the opportunity to connect with your audience. Facebook wants users to see videos, so a video post will have a better opportunity to show up in the newsfeed compared with a basic text post.

It can take a lot of work to put together a high-quality social media campaign. But, it is worth the effort because of the relationships that you can build with your customers.
